Sanovo Eggshell Dryer Auger

With a Sanovo Eggshell Dryer, the wet eggshells resulting from the egg breaking activity can be efficiently treated and sterilised. The basis of the ESD-A is a screw heat exchanger heated by thermal oil. The capacity of the system ranges from 500-2000 kg shells per hour, corresponding to around 62.000- 190.000 eggs per hour. The design is highly suited for food processors. The auger is made in stainless steel and the complete system demands only limited space. Moreover, the system is delivered as a turn-key installation, ready to be put in operation.

The Elements

The elements of a turnkey drying plant are an eggshell drying auger, a grinder, a unit to heat the thermal oil and an exhaust system to remove moisture. In addition the ESD-A is delivered with a control panel, which also contains a frequency regulator and a data logger for temperature measurement of the shells. The temperature can be displayed on a computer and incorporated in a report for the local authorities.

The Process

The wet eggshells go through a centrifuge before being lead to the eggshell dryer for sterilisation. All traceable bacteria are destroyed during the drying process and the moisture percentage is reduced to less than one per cent. The end-product, the dried shells, complies with the EC 1774/2002 Directive. The eggshells can be heated to up to 160°C with a maximum retention time in the dryer of 20 minutes.
